Metalprogetti, the UK’s leading and most experienced supplier of garment handling and conveyor systems, have implemented a bespoke conveyor solution for InterContinental London Park Lane, a stunning 5-star hotel based in London.
InterContinental London Park Lane required a conveyor system that was able to handle in the region 3000 items in their uniform room, whilst generating more available space to allow for the sorting of garments. Jason Alexander from Metalprogetti visited the client’s site to undertake an initial site survey, concluding that InterContinental required a bespoke conveyor system, due to the available space and ceiling height of the room. In response, Metalprogetti was able to redesign the motor control system of their conveyor solution in order to meet their requirements.
Following the installation, the new system is able to handle more than 3000 uniforms and has significantly increased the overall capacity of the uniform room. It was also important to InterContinental that the new facility reduced the amount of time staff were spending looking for their uniforms. With this in mind, Metalprogetti implemented a delivery point on the conveying system, making it easier for staff members to access their uniform quickly and efficiently.
Options for these conveyors range from fully-automated delivery systems using Staff ID cards, to simple storage conveyors, all of which increase productivity.
Metalprogetti Director, Jason Alexander, said; “We managed the installation from start to finish and the client is delighted with the result. It was a tricky project in terms of the space available for the system, but we were able to develop a bespoke solution that met all of InterContinental’s needs.”
